I Am Royal Youth & Family Group, Inc. is a domestic nonprofit organization that promotes mental wellness in disadvantaged communities through a humanistic psychology approach. We build self-esteem and personal growth by implementing activities centered on cultural awareness and individual identity.

Resident Services: The Foundation
The Resident Services Department serves as the operational hub that connects residents to essential resources. Its mission is to promote housing stability, prevent eviction, and foster upward mobility through proactive and holistic support.
EMPOWERVHA reflects the growth and evolution of the Valdosta Housing Authority Resident Services Department through a unified approach to resident empowerment, self-sufficiency, and community development. Built on the vision and community-centered foundation established through I Am Royal Youth and Family Group, Inc. and the leadership of Angela Hargrove, EMPOWERVHA brings together Jobs Plus, ROSS, and Royal Academy to provide connected services that support personal growth, workforce development, family stability, and youth empowerment.
Before the expansion of HUD-aligned programs such as ROSS and Jobs Plus, efforts were already being made to connect residents to resources, mentorship, employment opportunities, and life-skills development through programs like Royal T.E.E.A. (Train, Employ, Empower, Achieve). These early initiatives helped lay the foundation for the integrated resident services model that continues to strengthen and empower the VHA community today.
